Description


The main purpose of the ECN Chair is to oversee and coordinate the ECN Committee’s membership and activities. Throughout the year, this involves organising and chairing monthly Committee meetings and compiling meeting agendas and minutes in coordination with the Secretary. In addition, the role involves liaising with ECN Committee members and the ISPAH Board regarding ongoing and future activities (incl. Early Career Socials, the Member Highlight and Congress activities). The commitment for this role spans across the whole year, with more intense planning and organisation required before and during the biennial Congress (next in 2026 in Mexico City).   

Roles: 

  • Oversee and coordinate ISPAH Early Career Network activities. 
  • Develop an ECN Workplan for approval by the board. 
  • Liaise with the ISPAH Executive and other ISPAH Board members on early career opportunities and actions as required. 
  • Recruit and maintain records of ECN committee and membership. 
  • Recruit and coordinate ISPAH membership into the ECN.  
  • Coordinate early career-related communications in conjunction with the ISPAH Communications Committee as needed. 
  • Coordinate ECN activities at the biennial ISPAH Congress. 
  • Coordinate webinars and professional development opportunities for ECN members throughout the calendar year. 
  • Lead a workshop and other professional development activities at the biennial congress. 
  • Collaborate with the Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) Research Council and other Councils, to enhance cross-organization engagement. 
  • Provide reports (written/verbal) on ISPAH Early Career Network activities/ issues at ISPAH Board meetings and the AGM. 
  • Plan for succession and identify new ECN leadership and committee members. 

We are looking for someone to start shadowing from June, to officially take over in October. 

Requirements: 

  • Strong interest in the physical activity and health field 
  • Organised, attentive and responsive 
  • Good communicator 
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders across a range of levels, including the ISPAH Board 
  • Proactive and creative to develop and implement ECN activities 
  • Flexible to allow for tasks to be actioned before and after Committee meetings
