Description:
The main purpose of the ECN Secretariat is to support the day-to-day functioning of the ECN committee. The duties will vary depending on the time of year and in relation to the timing of the biennial congress (next in 2024). The Secretariat’s activities will largely depend on the needs and ways of working of the ECN Chair and other committee roles that may require support. For the most part, the role includes compiling an agenda and taking minutes for the ECN committee’s monthly meetings and supporting the ECN Chair in the planning and execution of educational, networking and social activities.
Roles:
- Maintain the schedule for ECN committee meetings extending at least 6 months ahead of time
- Support the ECN committee meetings including preparation of agendas (sent a minimum of one week ahead), minutes of previous meeting (sent ideally within one week after meetings) and attachments (as required); these tasks and materials should be prepared in consultation with the current ECN Chair
- Coordinate and, where needed, support internal communications for committee communications, including supporting the use of relevant software (e.g. MS Teams)
- Support the ECN Chair in maintaining records of current committee members
- Undertake other ad hoc administrative tasks as required
Requirements:
- Interested (and experienced) within the physical activity and health research field
- Organised, efficient, attentive, easy to communicate with and flexible.
Expected time commitment:
- On average the role includes 2-4 hours/month, with the majority of the work occurring around the time of the monthly ECN committee meetings.
