Description

The ISPAH ECN committee is currently seeking to fill the position of WPRO (Western Pacific) Region Representative. Duties of this role include providing regular updates from the region, supporting the organisation of webinars and congress activities by identifying and/or recruiting appropriate regional speakers as well as supporting local members and providing advocacy for the region as a whole. The duties will vary depending on the time of year and in relation to the timing of the biennial congress (next in the EURO region in Paris, October 2024 and then in the PAHO region in Mexico City, 2026).  

Roles: 

  • Report regional activities and opportunities at monthly meetings   
  • Assist the ECN Chair and Secretary with the planning and delivery of webinars and other activities (such as by recruiting regional speakers)  
  • Represent the ISPAH ECN at local conferences and events approved by the ECN committee  
  • Support member engagement by local advocacy and promoting membership  
  • Provide leadership and support for ECN activities organised within the region  
  • Undertake other ad hoc region-related tasks as required (such as identifying potential future replacements) 

Requirements: 

  • Interested (and experienced) within the physical activity and health research field  
  • Knowledge of key physical activity-related research and/or policy developments within the region  
  • Organised, efficient, attentive, easy to communicate with and flexible  
  • Ideally with an existing network of local contacts in physical activity and health 

Applicants will be evaluated on an ongoing basis, and this position may be closed early if a suitable applicant is selected.
