The International Society for Physical Activity and Health (ISPAH) is proud to announce its membership in the World Health Organization (WHO) Civil Society Working Group (CSWG) on Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs). As the only organization within the group dedicated exclusively to physical activity and public health, ISPAH will play a vital role in shaping global policies to combat physical inactivity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other NCDs through movement.

The WHO Civil Society Working Group is a coalition of leading health organizations that advises the WHO Director-General on key milestones in the global NCD agenda. In the coming months, the group will contribute recommendations for the United Nations High-Level Meeting on NCDs (HLM4), scheduled for September 2025

With rising levels of physical inactivity contributing to the global NCD crisis, ISPAH will advocate for stronger commitments to implement the WHO Global Action Plan on Physical Activity (GAPPA) 2018–2030. This includes promoting policy change, increased investment, and country-level implementation to ensure a healthier, more active world.

Stay connected with ISPAH for updates on our advocacy efforts and contributions to global health policy.
