Overview

Shauna M. Burke, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the School of Health Studies at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. Shauna’s research area is child and family health, with a specific focus on childhood obesity, movement and health behaviors (e.g., physical activity, sedentary behavior), and group dynamics. In addition to >100 presentations, workshops, and invited lectures at national and international scientific conferences, Shauna has published several peer-reviewed articles in the areas of physical activity, health behaviours, public health, and group dynamics. Shauna is currently the Principal Investigator of the “iBelong” program of research, investigating young people’s perceptions of social connectedness, adherence to public health guidelines, health and wellbeing, and engagement in health behaviors throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
