Description:
ISPAH is seeking to appoint a new board member to lead work on minimising the society’s carbon footprint. The post-holder will act as the society’s climate advocate, applying a lens of climate responsibility to all of the society’s activities and working collaboratively with all ISPAH members to minimise climate impact. A key task will be to develop the Society’s Carbon Management Plan and oversee it’s implementation – this will extend to both the society’s day to day operations and biennial congress. We anticipate that the appointee will undertake appropriate training (paid for by ISPAH) to develop understanding of key terminology and methodology in relation to carbon management and carbon footprint assessment
Roles:
- Lead the development and delivery of actions to reduce the society’s carbon footprint, both in its day-to-day operation and biennial conference.
- Subject to appropriate training, develop and implement a carbon emissions measurement process and Carbon Management Plan for ISPAH.
- Apply a lens of ‘climate responsibility’ to all ISPAH activity and support other board members in minimising the climate impact of work in their portfolio.
- Represent ISPAH in appropriate forums and work with partner organisations to support achievement of climate-related goals.
