Description


The Co-Editor of ISPAH News plays a crucial role in curating, producing and disseminating newsletters and email communications to the ISPAH community (over 3500 subscribers). The editors collaborate with ISPAH’s board members and partners to identify and share what is happening in the world of physical activity and health. This position involves curating and distributing monthly editions of ISPAH News, coordinating the posting of news articles on the ISPAH website, and managing bulk emails to ISPAH members through ISPAH’s CRM Mailer platform. The Co-Editors also collaborate with board member(s) to select winners for the photo competition. The commitment for this role is two years.

Roles:

  1. Produce and co-edit engaging newsletter content which attracts people working in physical activity and health to ISPAH, and drive engagement with the ISPAH website.
  2. Identify and source news articles relevant to the ISPAH community; Support the Communications Chair to achieve timely and accurate publication of news on the ISPAH website and newsletters.
  3. Utilize ISPAH’s CRM Mailer to distribute email communications (newsletters and notices) adhering to established schedules and guidelines.
  4. Collaborate with board member(s) to notify winners for the ISPAH photo competition.
  5. Ensure that selected news content aligns with ISPAH’s goals and guidelines.
  6. Engage with the ISPAH Committees and partners to align news content with broader communication strategies.

Requirements:

  • Passion for curating and disseminating relevant news to the large ISPAH community.
  • Commitment to dedicating 1-4 hours per week to Co-Editor responsibilities, greater commitment between 15-25th each month before newsletter release.
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills.
  • Confident with IT and familiar with CRM Mailer or similar email distribution platforms.
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with board member(s) and the Communications Committee.
