
The Department of Kinesiology and Health Education (KHE) at the College of Education (COE) of The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) is ranked 6th in the United States by the National Academy of Kinesiology. KHE offers master’s and doctoral programs across diverse areas, including kinesiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics and neurorehabilitation, prevention science, and physical culture and sport studies, preparing the next generation of physical activity and health scholars and practitioners to advance health and human performance. Also at COE, the Center for Research to Community Impact (CRCI) is a hub for community-centered, team science research spanning education and health, with an emphasis on tackling disparities. Among many other topics in education and health, CRCI’s portfolio includes a wide range of funded physical activity research, from exercise physiology studies to school-based interventions, to playground design optimization, to large international projects disseminating evidence-based approaches to effectively promote physical activity opportunities worldwide.
