  • Works closely with<\/strong>: ISPAH Executive (President, Past President and President-Elect), ISPAH Board Members, Communications Committee Volunteers, Local Organizing Committees for Congress, and relevant ISPAH Committees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Purpose of the Role<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    The ISPAH Communications Committee Co\u2011Lead provides strategic and operational leadership and co\u2011chairs the Communications Committee. This committee is responsible for delivering ISPAH\u2019s digital communications, branding, member engagement, knowledge translation, and Congress\u2011related communications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In 2026, ISPAH is transitioning from a single\u2011lead to a two\u2011person Co\u2011Lead model to strengthen continuity, distribute workload, and ensure sustainable leadership. Each Co\u2011Lead will serve a minimum two\u2011year term, with staggered rotation so that one Co\u2011Lead transitions off each year. This ensures one Co\u2011Lead always brings prior Congress experience, maintaining effective delivery across ISPAH\u2019s biennial Congress cycle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Because this is the initial year of the co\u2011leadership model, the second Co-lead role will be recruited in 2027, meaning the successful candidate will operate on a lead capacity for 12 months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition to leading the Communications Committee, the Co\u2011Leads represent communications perspectives on the ISPAH Board, contribute to strategic priorities, and help build long\u2011term organisational capacity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Key Responsibilities<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    The Communications Committee Co-Leads are jointly responsible for the effective leadership, coordination, and representation of the ISPAH Communications portfolio. Key duties include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Committee Leadership & Operations<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the Communications Committee. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Coordinating a team of approximately\u202f15 global volunteers\u202fwho deliver social media, newsletters, blogs, campaigns, and Congress communications. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Using and maintaining ISPAH\u2019s\u202fMicrosoft 365 based communications system, including automated ticketing, Power Automate workflows, resource libraries, and structured content pipelines. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
      Planning & Strategy<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Development and supervised delivery of the biennial Communications Workplan. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Ensuring communications align with ISPAH\u2019s strategic priorities, brand guidelines, and global representation goals. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Identifying opportunities to grow visibility, engagement, and impact across ISPAH platforms. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
        Meetings & Representation<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        • Calling and co-chairing Communications Committee meetings. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Representing the committee in engagements with the ISPAH Board and serving as a primary point of contact. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Collaborating with Local Organising Committees and Congress partners on communications planning and delivery.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
          Congress Communication<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          • Leading communications planning for biennial ISPAH Congresses, including timelines, promotional campaigns, announcements, and coordination with partners. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Ensuring continuity of knowledge and processes between Congress cycles through the staggered Co-Lead model. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
            Volunteer Support & Capacity Building<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
              \n
            • Coordinating and supporting committee members in their roles. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Facilitating opportunities for volunteer development, participation, and leadership. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              Selection Criteria<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

              Essential<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

              • Experience in communications, public health, physical activity, digital media, or related fields. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • ISPAH member. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., committee leadership, project coordination). <\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and motivate volunteers across time zones. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and global representation in physical activity and public health. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Confidence using (or willingness to learn) Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Planner\/Lists, Power Automate, Forms). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                Desirable<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
                  \n
                • Experience organising communications for events, webinars, or conferences. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Experience with digital marketing, knowledge translation, or campaign development. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Familiarity with automated or system-based workflow processes. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Bilingual or multilingual. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                  Time Commitment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                  Estimated average commitment of\u202f2\u20133 hours per week<\/strong>, varying depending on active projects, volunteer activities, and Congress planning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Additional time may be required during Congress cycles, reporting periods, or major campaigns and announcements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Early onboarding in 2026 is strongly encouraged<\/strong>\u202fto support a smooth transition before the formal term begins in October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                    The Communications Committee Co-Lead will be appointed through an open and transparent expression of interest process, in line with ISPAH governance procedures. Appointment is subject to approval by the ISPAH Board, and you may be required to attend an interview. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
