Overview

Jessica is a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Health and Exercise Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She completed her PhD at the University of Bristol in the Biomedical Research Centre (2017-2021). Her current research focuses on developing, implementing and evaluating physical activity interventions involving electrically assisted bicycles in a range of populations, including individuals diagnosed with cancer and those with or at risk of type 2 diabetes. She is also interested in understanding how e-cycling can substitute for motorized vehicle use and the potential environmental impact of modal shift. Jessica has shared her research findings with policy makers, community partners and the public through a variety of knowledge translation activities.
